His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef is the beloved bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States — the diocese under which Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Prosper, Texas, serves. His Eminence has dedicated his life to building strong, faithful Coptic Orthodox communities across the American South, from Texas to Florida, with tireless energy, deep spirituality, and a pastor's heart.
Metropolitan Youssef was born in Egypt and felt God's call to the monastic life and eventual episcopal ministry. Ordained as a bishop and later elevated to the rank of Metropolitan, he has served the Southern United States diocese for many years, overseeing dozens of parishes and thousands of Coptic families throughout the region.
Under His Eminence's leadership, the Diocese of the Southern United States has grown remarkably — planting new churches, establishing educational programs, expanding youth ministries, and strengthening the ties between Coptic communities in a rapidly growing region. His Eminence is known for his accessibility, his depth of spiritual wisdom, and his genuine love for every soul entrusted to his care.
